Healing the Ancestral Wound

I had a great conversation today about the ancestral wound and how this can be at the root of many of our personal problems.

Ancestral wounds influence our habits, beliefs, life decisions, and experiences.

When I led the last Dream Magic class in May, one of the participants connected with an ancestral wound that was directly tied into her limiting beliefs about money.

She incubated a dream and instantly received a deep healing that released a lot of tension.

Similarly, a few years ago, my client, Janice told me she’d been trying to create a purpose inspired business for years, but she wasn’t having any luck.

Within the first 30 minutes of our first session, I realized the root of her problem was ancestral. We stopped our coaching call and reschedule an ancestral healing session.

A week later, while in sacred space separated by 3000 miles, Janice and I ventured into the realm of the ancestors.

During our journey, we were able to connect with her grandfather and find the core problem: her grandfather had lived an impoverished life and had developed a belief that, “Poverty was a virtue.”

Whether his belief was passed down from generation-to-generation genetically or through daily affairs, or more likely both, Janice’s grandfather had instilled in his family the same belief: poverty is a virtue.

No wonder Janice was having problems.

During the session, Janice and I worked with the spirit of her deceased grandfather to help heal this wound. We spoke with the grandfather about his life and showed him how his wound was adversely impacting his granddaughter decades later. Fortunately, he recognized the negative consequences of his belief.

He immediately started to remove this belief from his family lineage. Both Janice and I could feel the extraction. It was a powerful healing.

I talked with Janice the day after her session. Here’s what Janice had to say, in her own words:

You’ve helped me tremendously, Amy, to start to step into this new life and this new stuff that’s always been there, but for whatever reason I wasn’t ready to tap into or wasn’t ready to acknowledge it. It just feels so good.

I woke up this morning, I looked at the clock and it was 5:19 and I thought, “Yay, I can start my day. Time to get up.”

And that’s really what I was looking for. I’ve felt flat lined for so long, like “Oh, another day.”
After the ancestral healing, I feel like I’ve got the juices flowing, my excitement and enthusiasm for life is back. I feel like I do have gifts and talents I’ll be offering. Enjoying myself while I’m doing it and helping people at the same time.

And it all happened … it’s been a long time leading up to this, but things gelled quite quickly.

I asked her, “What do you think helped the most?”

The unblocking. When I was reading your email today, I knew that was it. The shamanic healing session shifted it. All that scattered energy, all of my ideas, all of the possibilities that I could see but couldn’t get to, you just moved all that out of the way.

I’ve worked with life coaches, and have done some cursory work, but Amy, you have a real gift for this. It’s very powerful.

Thank you Amy. I honor who you are and what you do.

You’ve made an incredible difference in my life and I’m very, very grateful for our time together.

Ancestral healing is powerful magic.

In the next Dream Magic program, which starts the week of October 5, we will be working toward healing issues that are often rooted in ancestral wounds:

Ancestral wounds can be related to:

  • Lacking clear vision for your life
  • Feeling disconnected
  • Having difficulty making decisions
  • Experiencing money challenges
  • Having health challenges
  • Standing in your power
  • Suffering from addictions
  • Being highly empathic and/or sensitive
  • Holding back out of fear of out-shining someone in your family
  • Feeling guilty for coming from privilege or poverty
  • Not feeling supported
  • Staying hidden or small in order to be loved
  • Comparing yourself to others
  • Repeating relationship drama
  • Living a less than empowered life (an addiction to victimhood)

When you begin to heal your ancestral wounds, you begin to stand in your own space. You feel more comfortable in your skin because you don’t have other people’s energies in your way.

During the Dream magic program we’ll discuss how you can heal these wounds so you can more easily create the experiences and outcomes you truly desire.

If you’re interested in learning more about the process, I’m offering a free webinar called, “Ignite Your Inner Magic.”

The webinar discusses the number one reason people have a difficult time reaching their dreams (hint: it’s related to the ancestral wound, although I don’t call it that in the webinar) and what you can do to heal this and move forward.

When you sign up you also get a beautiful — free — downloadable poster with the 7 Steps of Dream Magic. You can print it out and hang in on your bulletin board to remind you of your power to create your life, your way!

To get instant access to both the poster and the webinar, click here (the poster page is first. Once you register for it you’ll be redirected to the webinar page).

Webinar is over.
