Create New Year’s Revelations, Not Resolutions

I used to do New Year’s Resolutions. I’d create a ridiculous goal like, “I’ll never eat chocolate or drink wine again.” Then come January 1st, I’d see the leftover bottle of Zinfandel next to the Christmas cookies. End of resolution.

After many failed attempts at making resolutions stick, and feeling like a total loser, I discovered the main flaw in this process, and it’s something no one ever talks about.

New Year’s Resolutions and Themes are typically created using your conscious, thinking mind, which limits you to only seeing what you already know. Your current situation in health, wealth, life, and love is based on what you know, so creating a resolution based on what you already know is bound to get you to Nowheresville.

In other words, your conscious mind can only get you so far.

If you want to make a shift, you need to access a richer, deeper place. You need to connect with your higher mind.

I discovered this process in 2015 when I did a dream incubation to receive a New Year’s Revelation from Spirit.

What is a New Year’s Revelation

A New Year’s Revelation comes from your higher mind via your sleeping dreams. This means it comes from beyond your conscious mind. It’s a revelation because the information you receive is often not expected, but it is 100% in alignment with where you need to go.

For instance, in 2015, which was the first year I did this, I did a simple dream incubation to get a glimpse into what my year would be like.

In my dream journal, I wrote the statement:

Show me my life purpose theme for 2015.

I went to bed, drifted into la la land, and low and behold, I had a dream that showed me exactly what I wanted to know.

My Dream

In my dream, I’m chatting with my cousin in her office. She’s an architect and she confesses that she’s also a gifted intuitive. She wants to come out of the woo-woo closet. The problem is that she’s afraid she won’t be taken seriously by her colleagues. I tell her I can help her with that.

My Dream Revelation

I woke up knowing 2015 would be about helping professional women integrate their intuition and other spiritual gifts into their life/work so they could confidently “live their magic out loud.” This was a completely new direction for me, but I was intrigued.

Dreams help you reach beyond your conscious mind so you can hear the true desires of your soul.

With this process, you access information that helps you live the full expression of your soul power. Because you are no longer limited to what you know, you can move beyond where you are more easily.

When I had this dream, I was helping healers build businesses. Because I felt passionate about it, I never considered working with a different demographic. Certainly not highly motivated, successful and professional women who wanted to integrate their intuition and spiritual gifts into their life and work.

But that is exactly what I do today.

Without the dream I had in January 2015, I wouldn’t be helping my client Kelley, a business consultant, who is now doing Tarot readings for Executives in New York!

My 2015 Revelation inspired a whole new career focus for me, one that is a much better fit.

That is the power of doing a New Year’s Dream Revelation Incubation. It can shed light on what your soul is really here to do, and if you list, it can change your life for the better.

Here’s what I’d love for you to do now:

Incubate Your New Year’s Revelation

  1. Before you go to sleep, write in your dream journal or on a piece of paper, “Show me my life purpose theme for the new year.”
  2. Let this be the last thing you think about before you fall asleep. (Whatever you think about last is likely to influence your dreams, so don’t start thinking about your messy kitchen or you might dream about something messy, and you don’t want to accidentally think THAT is your theme for this year!)
  3. Sleep
  4. When you wake up, record your dream. Immediately.
  5. Repeat nightly until you have your dream message.

HINT: You can add, “I will remember my first five dreams so I can record them in the morning.” You’ll be more likely to remember your dreams if you do this, especially if you don’t normally remember your dreams.

Get Dream Incubation Results

I usually get results the next day. However, your dream incubation results can take a few days to show up. If you are new to this, or if you are consciously focused on something dramatic that’s going on in your life, like if you’ve just fallen in love, or had a fight, or accidentally spent $1000 on a new pair of shoes and you’re afraid your partner will freak out, then you’re likely to dream about the drama instead .

So if you don’t get a dream result right away, keep doing the process. Do it every night for days. You will eventually have a dream that is your life purpose theme.

Interpret Your Dream

Notice my dream didn’t say, “Your life purpose theme for 2015 is to help professional women integrate their spiritual gifts into their lives.” I had to interpret the meaning.

This is FUN, informative, and it only takes minutes to do.

So Have Fun!

sweet dreams,
