Thanks, Amy. This was exactly what I needed. I use my Tarot cards. They have been out, right in front of me, waiting. Calling. I'll do my first reading of the new year (Dragon!) today. It's a perfect rainy day!

Hi Amy - I've been using oracle decks for years for divination and for daily inspiration. They work! The artwork and images on the decks help me anchor the numinous into my daily life and give a lift to my day.

My favorite decks have wonderful artwork:

The Triple Godess Tarot by Isha Lerner, artist Mara Freeman
The Way of the Horse by Linda Kohanov, artist Kim McElroy
The Godess Oracle by Amy Sophia Marashinsky, artist Hrana Janto

A more standard tarot deck with great women oriented art is the Shining Women Tarot by Rachael Pollack.

Other favorites are the Godess Knowledge Cards, by Michael Babcock with artwork by Susan Seddon Boulet, and their Animal Knowlege Cards. The Medicine Cards by Jamie Sams are animal cards.

Thanks for your newsletters! I look forward to receiving them; they are always helpful.

Hi, Amy,

Thank you for sharing your story! My sister gave me a set of runes years ago for a Christmas or birthday present. I had never used them, but many years later, they have traveled with me and I use them as you describe. Sometimes I will just pick one rune to help me to focus when I am not sure what I need to be learning from a situation or what I need to focus on.

The same sister also gave me a set of "angel cards" some years later. These are cute, tiny cards, with lovely drawings of angels and one word, like "Gratitude" or "Expectation." I also use those when I need a focus, asking a question like, "What is the most important thing for me to learn?" or, if I am about to teach a class or lead a workshop, "What do the people need?"

I have recently learned about a deck of cards made by an intuitive artist with the 72 names (from the Kabbalah, I believe) and also the Wisdom of Solomon. I had been debating whether or not to buy them. They look interesting, but I travel all the time and was wondering if I really need one more thing to cart around. In fact, today I was either going to buy them or delete the email about them.

Then, your blog was in my morning email. So I received it as a "sign," like my own personal reading, to affirm that yes, this will be a good idea. Reading your blog also helped me to interpret my dream which was long and involved and kind of intense.

So thank you for this!

Best wishes,
Laurel
